Caniad attended the health and wellbeing drop in at Dolgellau, hosted by Mantell Gwynedd, engaging with the community and promoting our service along with many other support services available.
Caniad involvers have been out and about attending events to promote the benefits of the Caniad service and encourage more people to join us. One of involvers Liz attended Llandrillo College (Rhos site) for their Freshers Week event. Many thanks Liz and Llandrillo.
111 number has long waiting times and little support for Mental Health – You can now call 111 and select option 2 to speak with a member of the mental health team.
Service user and carer feedback on long waiting times and little mental health support when calling the NHS 111 number, had been listened to and utilised to develop a mental health option when calling 111. The mental health team are there 24 hours a day, seven days a week – offering urgent mental health support to people of all ages across North Wales. The number is free to call from a landline or mobile, even if you have no credit left.
The Welsh Drug and Alcohol helpline Dan 24/7 recently came out with a new page with the intention to create a simple and easy to use platform that allows users to complete Naloxone training, and to order themselves a lifesaving kit.

Caniad have been liaising with mental health wards and rehab units to organise Caniad patient groups to discuss experiences, feedback and recommendations. We now attend Ty Llywelyn, Tan-Y-Castell, Coed Celyn and are in the process of setting up more patient groups withing the other wards and rehabs across North Wales.
Caniad organised networking events during May to promote the importance of co-production and collaborative work between services. These events saw between 20-50 people attend, where the services were able to meet, discuss and promote their services.
Caniad reported the feedback around issues with transport to services, the Area Planning Board (APB) picked this up and were able to obtain funding towards transport to services. Caniad were then able to purchase Arriva bus tickets, which were allocated to APB services for their clients to have better access to their clinic, counselling and recovery groups using the bus tickets.
